CypherWorx, Inc. Wins Bronze in the 2015 Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Awards for Learning
ROCHESTER, N.Y., September 11, 2015 – CypherWorx, Inc. a leader in innovative eLearning solutions won a coveted Brandon Hall Group bronze in the Excellence in Learning: Best in Custom Content category for their Out-of-School Time Professional Development Course Series. CypherWorx developed the Out of School Time Professional Development (OSTPD) Center in partnership with content expert Roberta Newman, the National Afterschool Association, and Child Care Aware to offer a 36-Course Certificate Series that is used in 43 states for credit courses, certificates and credentialing.
CypherWorx partnered with Excel Beyond the Bell – San Antonio (ESSBSA), a joint recipient of the award, to customize the program and test the effectiveness of these courses. The study showed remarkable results. Between two and five participants at each school-age childcare provider served by EBBSA were asked to participate in this efficacy study. Of the six courses tested, average gains ranged from a low of 18 percentage points to a high of 33 percentage points. In all cases, the difference between pre- and posttest means was statistically significant.
The participants were chosen to represent a wide range of experience—from new hires to seasoned professionals, from those with high school/GED education to those with masters or doctoral degrees, and include participants from front-line staff to director level, and from organizations of varying sizes.
While pretest scores varied considerably among the six courses, mean posttest scores all clustered in the mid 80% range—between 83% and 90%. This indicates a high degree of mastery, regardless of the individual’s performance level when the course began.
